Project Description
A lack of circulation and connectivity are the dominant problems on the site for this Emergency Response Center. My proposal takes axes as instigators of a compositional strategy. At both the site and building scales, colonnades provide sheltered and demarcate paths. At the nexus of these is the Emergency Response Center. The three buildings make up more public, private and mixed programs. Geared towards the programmatic needs of workers, a figural and contextual language, and an inviting approach to the public realm, my proposal re-envisions the Center as a locus of activity: a place where one would enjoy to work, visit, eat and live.
