Project Description
In order to engage the Brooklyn Bridge and its pedestrian flow from the north, two intersecting volumes expand the building’s territory beyond the site. The negative space between the two entities unites the two existing parks into a leisure space shared by the public, and the importance of the emergency operation center is signified by its location. By floating above the public programs, the private entity maintains its physical presence among the tree lines. Ultimately, this emergency management center negotiates between the urban infrastructural scale and its immediate park/pedestrian context.
