Iskander Guetta
Iskander Guetta is a designer and researcher. He is interested in how design can be thought and practiced to address structural inequalities, placing at the center of his practice and research the intersecting issues of climate justice and decolonization.
His current research follows the traces of colonial formations and their aftermath in the contemporary Moroccan landscape, through a collection of stories, case studies and essays. He aims at connecting this assemblage of fragments to a global history of extraction, exploitation and dispossession. Alongside, the research illuminates tools, systems and infrastructures challenging the colonial order, eventually opening perspective on transformative design practices.
