Hermona Tamrat

Hermona Tamrat, PE is a structural engineer and project manager with nearly a decade of professional experience in New York City. She established her career as a structural engineer at Silman and currently works as the Design Manager of Recording Studios at Crossley Acoustics. During her time at Silman Structural Engineers, she launched the Building Equity Initiative with colleague Maya Stuhlbarg, expanding the firm’s pro bono work focused on creating spaces that strengthen communities and contribute to societal equity, and co-founded Silman’s Coalition for Justice in Design, advocating to center social justice in the firm’s work.
