Develop skill and intuition in architectural composition through close study, analytical drawing, and iterative experimentation across two- and three-dimensional media. The course moves between precedent and projection, using plan, section, elevation, and massing as active tools rather than static conventions. Students test proportion, figure and ground, thickness, depth, and assembly through multiple representational methods, building fluency in how form is constructed, read, and transformed. Fulfills first-year required visualization course. Assigned by lottery.
