This seminar is based on three major areas in the practice of writing: voice, craft, and platform. Students learn from examples of some of the architecture profession’s most common forms of written communication including the personal statement, project statement, press release, article, and essay. Rather than delving into the history of architectural journalism and criticism, this course seeks inspiration in recent and contemporary writings from adjacent cultural fields. Weekly coursework includes readings, written projects, and in-class workshopping. The course culminates in a final project.
