londonCALLING is a summer programme of the Yale School of Architecture.
Its aim is to introduce graduate students of YSoA to key sites of cultural production and knowledge exchange - exploring practices and institutions ranging from the established to the maverick and from the global/national to the regional/local. Museums, archives and kindred operations - within and beyond London - are explored as settings for collecting, conserving, curating, showing, narrating, observing, enacting and making practices. Field visits and guest talks underpin the programme.
Insights from visits and talks are the basis for individual student explorations presented in a finale to our time in London as a symposium on cultural speculations. In 2022, these presentations took the form of podcasts.
