Edek Sher
Performing Consumption
Edek Sher is a Los Angeles based artist who holds an MFA in Digital+Media from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has taught courses and worked at RISD and Brown University in Providence, RI. He has taught studio and seminar courses on systems art, public interventions, research-art-practices, performance, video games, and the internet. Finding inspiration in mythologized products, conspiracy theories, and social media, Sher creates video installations, social media interventions, and live-streamed performances that explore the roles of the individual in the face of antagonistic corporate practices and climate change.
