The Place of Research is a new event format that brings together and activates members of the CCA Research Network, an entity representing alumni from our research programs. Each year, the CCA convenes a series of site-specific gatherings that allow network members to share research in progress. The event highlights the ongoing concerns of the Research Network, positions the network as a medium of exchange and support, and brings together alumni around compelling and urgent research questions. We convene the second of these gatherings at the Yale School of Architecture in New Haven on 23 January.
New York City-area CCA alumni share their current research and discuss the Research Network’s core question guiding its activities for 2026: How can we build relation?
The event is co-hosted by CCA Research Network member and Yale SoA professor David Gissen, joined by CCA Research Network Steering Committee member Anooradha Iyer Siddiqi (Barnard College), and Rafico Ruiz, Associate Director, Research, CCA. The day opens with a conversation between Esra Akcan (Cornell University) and Nzinga Mboup (CCA c/o Dakar curator and co-founder of Worofila) and conclude with reflections on the 2026 guiding question by Hiʻilei Julia Kawehipuaakahaopulani Hobart (Yale University).
