How to use Deepnest.IO
Converting your file for Deepnest.IO
Place a piece of geometry in your file that matches your workpiece as accurately as possible. Make sure it’s oriented in the same way you expect it to be in the device you want to work with.
Note: For the Zund, this means you’ll want to rotate your workpiece geometry 90° counter-clock-wise.
From Rhino, AutoCAD, or Illustrator, export your geometry as a DXF file. From Photoshop, export your geometry as an SVG.
Note: Only vector based geometry will export.
Running Deepnest.IO
Open Deepnest.IO from the Start menu.
Click on the Import button in the top left of the window, then select the file you exported earlier in the browser window.
In the left pane of the window where each individual piece of geometry is shown, click on the Sheet checkbox next to the workpiece.
Adjusting Settings
Click on the gear icon on the left sidebar to change the way that Deepnest.IO will adjust your geometry and how much of your computer’s resources it will consume while working.
Mouseover any of the settings for a description with visual aids that will describe how changing this value will impact the nesting operation and your final parts.
Click on the Deepnest icon above the gear to go back to the main interface.
Start Nesting
Click on the Stop Nest button to stop the nesting operation. With your preferred solution selected, click on the Export button to save out your geometry.
We recommend using the DXF filetype when exporting from Deepnest for fabrication.
